What we do
Test the idea against the local market, competitors, pricing and demand. Decide where to start and what to leave for later.
Talk through entry options at a business level, then have them reviewed and implemented by licensed lawyers and accountants before anything is filed.
Practical, first hand context on the official and MEP dollar markets and on moving capital in and out through formal channels, and how currency rules affect pricing, payroll and returns.
Design the team, choose between hiring directly or through an employer of record, and set up the vendors you need.
General information on how things work locally, then introductions to the lawyers, contadores, banks and specialists who do the regulated work, coordinated so it moves in the right order.
Internal staff services on a contractual basis, with the principal working inside your business under your direction. Ongoing reading of policy and FX changes for your plan.
Who you work with
Cross border investment and business between Canada, the United States and Argentina.
Alamera Partners is led by a Canadian CPA (Chartered Professional Accountant) with 20 years in tax, including Big Four experience in U.S. and cross border tax.
Most of that career was spent in senior leadership roles directing reviews of complex corporate and individual tax files, transfer pricing and large international businesses. That meant leading teams of tax and international specialists, setting audit and compliance programs, managing multimillion dollar budgets and working directly with companies and their advisers to resolve difficult technical issues.
The principal has also lived and operated in Argentina for the past two years. That includes hands on experience with the country's multiple dollar markets, such as the official and MEP rates, moving capital in and out of Argentina through formal channels, and working directly with contractors, architects, engineers and developers on real estate development and natural resources projects.
Few professionals combine Canadian and U.S. tax and business background with that kind of on the ground experience in Argentina. The combination is rare to find in one person, and it shapes how we look at structure, cash flows and risk when a business or investor enters Argentina. You deal directly with the principal throughout. Specialist and regulated work is brought in from independent licensed professionals as needed.

Why Argentina, why now
Argentina is in the middle of a broad stabilization and deregulation program. Rules on trade, currency, investment and labor have been changing quickly, and many sectors that were closed or impractical for years are opening up.
A dedicated incentive regime for large investments, known as RIGI, offers tax, customs and currency stability to qualifying projects. Energy, mining, technology and services are drawing new interest.
Change also brings risk. Rules are revised often, and the sequence of decisions on structure, banking and hiring matters. A clear plan, local context and the right licensed partners make the difference between a smooth entry and a costly one.
