Methodology
How the tracker is built.
Every row comes from an official record. If we cannot confirm a fact from an official source, it stays out of the table.

Sources
Investment treaties and double tax treaties come from the treaty library of the Argentine foreign ministry, which records signature, entry into force, approving law and termination for each treaty. Mercosur and Argentine trade agreements come from the foreign ministry's page of agreements in force and under negotiation, the Mercosur external relations records and the ALADI text database. Where a partner government publishes its own status, we link it too: for example the Singapore Ministry of Trade and Industry, Enterprise Singapore, the European Commission, EFTA and Japan's Ministry of Finance.
What each row shows
Counterparty, type, status, signature date, entry into force date for Argentina, whether it is an Argentine or a Mercosur agreement, the official source and the date we last checked it. We do not summarise tax rates or treaty benefits; follow the source link to the official text.
Status labels
In force means the official record shows an entry into force date for Argentina (the EU interim agreement is provisionally applied). Approved by Argentina means Congress has approved it but entry into force for Argentina is not confirmed. Signed means signed with no entry into force on record. Pending means signed and awaiting approval. Terminated means the record shows it as ended. Under negotiation means talks are active and nothing is signed.
Scope and limits
Double tax treaties listed are comprehensive income tax treaties and one tax information agreement; treaties limited to shipping or air transport are left out. Amending protocols are noted on the main treaty. Official records can lag behind events, so check the source before relying on a date.
Not verified, so not listed
- Mercosur and Palestine free trade agreement: not listed on the Argentine foreign ministry page of agreements in force and under negotiation, so its status is not verified from an official source.
- A bilateral double tax treaty or investment treaty between Argentina and Singapore: no record found in the foreign ministry treaty library, so none is listed.
- Deposit of Argentina's ratification of the Mercosur and Singapore agreement: no official source confirms it as of the last check.
How often it is checked
We recheck every source monthly and after major official acts. Each row and page shows its last checked date.
